SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN

Safeguarding children has been defined by the government as follows:

‘The process of protecting children from abuse or neglect, preventing impairment of their health and development, and ensuring they are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care that enables children to have optimum life chances and enter adulthood successfully.’

As a language school working with children, young people and their families, we take reasonable measures to ensure that the risks of harm to children's welfare are minimised. As such, we have a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of our students and we take this duty very seriously.

We have developed a Safeguarding Policy a Child Protection Policy as well as Abusive Behaviour Policy; all of which are policies you should be aware of - please read them carefully.

We at Languages United want students to feel safe and comfortable during their time here and are committed to maintaining an environment which is free from unlawful discrimination and harassment, bullying or abuse. We expect all our homestay providers to provide the same care and environment within their homes and family life. If you are concerned for the safety or welfare of your student, please contact a member of staff immediately. Languages United staff will respond to the allegations and reports and will make every effort to maintain confidentiality.
