Private Fostering
Private Fostering
Private Fostering
A child is privately fostered if:
- they are under the age of 16 (under 18 if disabled)
- cared for someone other than a parent or a close relative
- the intention is that they will stay there for 28 days or more.
Close relatives are: parents and step parents, grandparents, siblings, unles and aunts ( full or half blood, my marriage or civil partnership)
If you agree to host an under 16 student longer than 28 days we will have to inform the local authorities. Social services will visit you to assess your suitability. We will support and advice you throughout the assessment and hosting the student.
